This Mind and Life Institute funded project examined the impact of a gratitude intervention on wellbeing and social networks. In a 16-month longitudinal study, we used a large, representative sample of 500 adults from the USA to test the effect of a gratitude intervention (writing about things you are grateful for) as compared to an active control condition (writing about feelings). We used a new online network developed by the project team tool to gather information about the size of the participants social networks and how emotionally close they felt to network members. Data collection for this study is now complete and analysis is underway. The pre-registration for this study is available on the Open Science Framework.
